SILVIA GODINHO

Partner at the production company Oficina de Criação, Silvia Godinho has directed two works nominated for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. She holds a postgraduate degree in Directing and Producing from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in England and has completed dozens of projects as a director, screenwriter, producer, and editor. She earned a degree in Social Communication from PUC-MG. As the leader of the first Creative Hub of Ancine’s Audiovisual Sector Fund in the state of Minas Gerais, she worked as a showrunner in the creation of five television series. Her films prominently feature women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

She is the director and screenwriter of the documentary “Eu, um outro / I Am The Other”, winner of the Filme em Minas award in 2014. The film was screened at the 52nd Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema, the 27th Mix Brasil Festival, Outfest Los Angeles 2020, Outfest Fusion, and numerous other national and international festivals. It was theatrically released in more than 15 cinemas across Brazil, distributed by O2 Play, and broadcast on Canal Brasil. It is currently available on major digital platforms, including Apple TV, Google Play, Vivo Play, Claro TV, and YouTube.

She is the creator, director, screenwriter and producer of the youth fiction series “#GETREAL! / #FALASERIO!”, scheduled to premiere in 2026 on TV Cultura São Paulo. The series participated in the European Film Market at the 76th Berlinale in Germany in 2026.

She is also the creator, screenwriter, and director of the television fiction series “Azul Celeste”, produced in partnership with Dromedário Cinema e Vídeo for Cine Brasil TV, with a premiere scheduled for 2026.

She directed the fiction series “Mostra Tua Cara!” by Aldeia Produções (finalist for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro) and the documentary series “Fala Galera” (5 x 26’) by Oficina de Criação. Both projects were winners of Prodav 11 and were broadcast on TV Cultura, TV Brasil, and more than ten public television channels across Brazil.

She also directed the documentary series “Veredas do Brasil” (13 x 26’) for Cine Brasil TV, produced by Vaca Amarela, and “Brazilian Scientists Among the Best / Cientistas Brasileiros entre os melhores”, finalist for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro, produced by Immagini Animation Studios for public television networks and currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

She is the screenwriter of the feature-length fiction film “Dinorá”, winner of the Codemge Feature Film Development Grant in 2018 and the Frapa Writing Incentive Award in 2021.

Her authorial work includes directing and writing the fiction short films “A via crucis do corpo” (1990), “A doida” (1992), “Meninos da Zona Sul” (2004, co-directed with Cláudia Ribeiro, awarded at several national and international festivals and broadcast on TV Brasil, TV Cultura, and television channels in France and Japan), and “Debaixo D’água” (2011, winner of the Filme em Minas Award 2009/2010, awarded at national festivals and broadcast on Canal Brasil). She also directed and wrote the documentaries “Sob(re) a lona” (2006, co-directed with Janaína Patrocínio), “Alfaiates de Belo Horizonte” (2013, co-directed with Ana Luisa Santos), “Benzedeiras” (2014, co-directed with Cristina Maure and Maria Lopes for Canal Futura), and “Marias” (2014, co-directed with Cristina Maure and Maria Lopes).

ALEXANDRA HENAO

Partner at the production company Oficina de Criação, Alexandra Henao holds a degree in Cinematography from the National Film and Television School (NFTS), a Master’s degree in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from UCAB. She currently works as a director of photography, screenwriter, and/or director on short and feature films, documentary and fiction series, and commercials.

As a director of photography, she shot the fiction series “Azul Celeste”, “#FALASERIO!”, and “Mostra Tua Cara”, the latter nominated for the 2019 Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro.

She has also served as director of photography on feature films such as “Azul y no tan Rosa” (Goya Award 2014 for Best Ibero-American Film), “Eu, um outro” (Official Selection, Outfest Los Angeles 2020), “El Inca”, “3 Bellezas”, and “Historias Pequeñas”. The latter three were part of the Official Selection of the São Paulo International Film Festival.

Alexandra won the award for Best Cinematography at the Venezuelan Academy of Cinema in 2022 and 2020 for “Direção Oposta” and “A Noite das Duas Luas”, respectively.

As a director and screenwriter, she has completed the following works: 

 

“Mi Tia Gilma”, her debut feature film, received a Special Mention from the Uruguayan Association of Film Critics at the 26th Punta del Este International Film Festival and recently won the Yellow Robin Award for Best Film at the Curaçao International Film Festival in Rotterdam in 2024. The film was officially selected for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI Goa), FICVIÑA, Schlingel International Film Festival (Germany), Ventana Sur (Argentina), and Málaga Film Festival (Spain).

“Kuyujani Envenenado”, her second feature-length documentary, was recognized as Best Andean Documentary at the Franco-Andean Documentary Festival Documenta 2017 and received a Special Mention at the Caracas Documentary Film Festival.

Her first feature-length documentary, “La Tranca”, was officially selected for the Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI) and the Ismailia International Film Festival.

“Cunaro” won the “Buñuel Razor” Award from the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), Best Short Film at the 25th Chicago Latino Film Festival, the 11th Rencontres du Cinéma Sud-Américain, and the Audience Top 10 Award at the 19th Curta Kinoforum Brasil. It was also officially selected for festivals such as the Tampere Film Festival, Uppsala International Short Film Festival, ZINEBI, Brief Encounters, and Interfilm.

“La Uva”, selected among the Top 10 at the AXN Film Festival, screened at the 34th São Paulo International Film Festival.
